20 OCTOBER 2021 (TORONTO, ON) – Dark Slope Studios, the Toronto-based virtual production and metaverse development company, today announces BABBLE BOP! a musical dance series for preschoolers produced for Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. The animated series was produced on Dark Slope’s warehouse-scale motion capture stage, utilizing its proprietary pipeline of virtual production tools and techniques that include motion tracking and real time rendering.

BABBLE BOP! Features dozens of classic and original songs framed around music, dance and play. The show features:

  • A wonderfully cute set of heroes – Lily, Hugo, Miguel, Izzie and Sam – who inhabit a small, but miraculous world filled with catchy tunes
  • Peeks into the little things in life such as having a snack, dressing up, drawing with crayons, or playfully helping parents around the house
  • Episodes constructed around a simple and danceable preschool song that’s either original or a new take on a beloved nursery rhyme.

Dark Slope Studio’s Dan Fill and Raja Khanna serve as the executive producers and Christine Thompson as producer. The series was written by Katherine Standford and directed by Luke Jurevicius and Tim D.P. Thompson.

“We had a fantastic time developing this show for NBC Universal’s streaming service, Peacock. Having a partner who understood the balance between creative storytelling and cutting-edge production techniques resulted in a seamless production process across multiple time zones, expanded idea iteration and enhanced visibility on the final product from the outset of production.” Dan Fill, President, Dark Slope Studios.

Dark Slope Studios has previously partnered with Nickelodeon, Warner and MTV on virtual production content. BABBLE BOP! is the first series in the studios’ upcoming content pipeline. Additional details to be announced at a later date.
